Renovations & Refurbishments

Whole-house renovations and full refurbishments. Reconfigured layouts, new kitchens and bathrooms, rewires and replumbs, finished to a standard that lasts.

From single rooms to complete transformations, our home refurbishments give West Sussex properties a new lease of life, carefully planned, properly managed and finished to a standard we’re proud to put our name to.

Much of the housing around Haywards Heath, Horsham and the surrounding towns has bags of character but hasn’t been touched in decades. A well-planned refurbishment lets you keep everything you love about your home while bringing the comfort, efficiency and style up to modern standards, usually for far less than the cost of moving.

Refurbishing older and period homes

Sussex, Surrey and Kent have more than their share of Victorian villas, tile-hung cottages and 1930s semis. These homes need a builder who understands them. Where you can open things up, what needs specialist attention, and how to blend new work seamlessly with old. We’ve renovated period properties across all three counties and we know how to keep their character while quietly upgrading everything behind the walls.

Why refurbish with White Construction

Refurbishments have a reputation for spiralling budgets and unfinished snagging lists. Ours don’t, because of how we run them: a detailed itemised quote before we start, a realistic schedule you can hold us to, trades coordinated properly so nobody’s waiting on anybody, and a site kept tidy enough to live alongside. You’ll get progress updates without having to chase for them.

Take a look at our recent projects to see the standard for yourself, including full-house renovations in East Grinstead and Haywards Heath.

Start with an honest conversation

Every renovation starts with a proper site visit. We’ll look at what you’ve got, listen to what you want, and give you straight answers about what it’ll take, including anything we think you shouldn’t spend money on. Request a quote or give us a call to get started.

FAQs

Your questions, answered

Can't find your answer?

Ask us a question
How much does a renovation cost?

It depends entirely on scope. A single-room refurbishment is a very different job to a whole-house renovation. What we promise is a fully itemised written proposal before any work starts, so you can see exactly where your budget goes and shape the scope around it.

Can we live in the house during a refurbishment?

In most cases, yes. We stage the work room by room where possible, keep dust protection up and agree working hours with you. For full renovations involving rewiring and replumbing, we'll be honest about which stages are worth planning around.

How long does a renovation take?

A whole-house renovation typically runs 16–30 weeks depending on size, structural work and specification. You will get a realistic written programme alongside your proposal, plus weekly updates against it once we start.

Do you work on period and listed properties?

Regularly. We renovate Victorian, Edwardian and older properties across West Sussex, Surrey and Kent. For listed buildings and conservation areas we advise on consent requirements before any work is planned.
